Mom's visit (part 1- Scenery)

The most "touristy" thing Peggy and I did was we took a flight-seeing trip to LeConte Glacier.  We got lucky with the weather and it made for some awesome pictures!

Above the clouds.

Glaceral Eye.

LeConte Glacier extends behind the left side of that mountain.

Glacer ice is blue due to the oxygen being crushed out of the ice thru the years.

The view of Devil's Thumb from LeConte Glacier.

We decided that those puddles are glacier blue :)

"Calving" is the term used for chunks of ice breaking off of the glacier to form icebergs.

Clear blue iceberg.

Devil's Thumb in the fog.

Islands in Fredrick Sound

The harbor is the heart of Petersburg.

We took Peggy all over the island showing her around.  We saw the eagles at Blind Slough.

Young bald eagle.

Young bald eagle flying.

Another young bald eagle flying.

Bald Eagle!

King Salmon Fry at the Crystal Mountain Hatchery.

Stones in a creek.

Blind Slough Rapids.

The view from Greens Camp.

Sunset over Fredrick Sound.

Whale watching boat viewing icebergs.

I came across the shadow of a dragonfly on the blinds in our kitchen at sunset.  Sometimes a picture opportunity happens when you least expect it.
